Overview

devlo AI is a software development platform that acts as an AI teammate embedded in your engineering workflow. It connects to source control and issue trackers to help teams tackle bugs, write tests, review pull requests, and ship smaller tasks without context switching. Designed to plug into existing tools like GitHub, devlo can be assigned issues or PRs much like a human collaborator. It analyzes repository context, proposes code changes, and opens pull requests for review, aiming to reduce the time engineers spend on routine maintenance work. The platform is targeted at development teams looking to offload repetitive tasks, accelerate code review, and improve test coverage while keeping humans in control of final merges.

Solid for our team

We rolled this out across the team last quarter and integrates directly with GitHub workflows. Assignable AI teammate workflow fits neatly into how we already work, and gitHub and issue tracker integration removed a step we used to do by hand. but it has held up under daily use.

Skeptical, then convinced

I went in skeptical — most tools in this space overpromise. It actually delivers on gitHub and issue tracker integration, and handles routine tasks like tests and bug fixes caught me off guard. still, I'd recommend giving it a real trial.

Repo-aware code understanding fits neatly into how we already work, and pull request review assistance removed a step we used to do by hand. Quality depends on repo structure and context, which is the main caveat, but it has held up under daily use.
