Motive

AI-powered fleet platform for driver safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.

4.5 (4)

Overview

Motive is a fleet management platform that uses AI and connected hardware to help businesses oversee drivers, vehicles, and equipment in real time. It combines dash cams, ELDs, GPS tracking, and analytics to surface safety risks, automate compliance tasks, and improve day-to-day operations. The platform is widely used across trucking, construction, logistics, and field services. Fleet managers can monitor driver behavior, coach unsafe habits with video evidence, manage hours-of-service logs, and track spending on fuel and maintenance from a single dashboard. Motive also extends beyond vehicles with tools for asset tracking, spend management, and workforce productivity, positioning itself as an operations hub rather than a single-purpose telematics tool.

Use it every day

Honestly didn't expect to like it this much. Electronic logging device (ELD) compliance is exactly what I needed, and aI dash cam detects risky driving in real time. I do wish pricing not transparent without a sales quote, but I reach for it almost every day now and it just clicks.

Solid for our team

We rolled this out across the team last quarter and strong reporting and safety analytics. Fuel and spend management fits neatly into how we already work, and vehicle and equipment maintenance tracking removed a step we used to do by hand. Can be complex for very small fleets, which is the main caveat, but it has held up under daily use.

Does the job

Pretty happy overall. Driver safety scores and reporting just works and integrated ELD and compliance tools. Can be complex for very small fleets can be annoying, but no dealbreakers — I'd recommend it to a friend without hesitating.

Compared a few options

Evaluated this against two competitors. Where it wins: driver safety scores and reporting and strong reporting and safety analytics. On balance the feature set — especially vehicle and equipment maintenance tracking — justifies the 5 stars for our use case.
