Overview

Build In Public Log is a public leaderboard that ranks indie builders based on their shipping streaks, rather than their follower count. It allows users to track their progress, stay accountable, and motivated by publicly showcasing their weekly shipping streaks. The platform automatically tracks commits from GitHub repositories or allows users to log manual ships for non-code work. Users can browse the leaderboard and public profiles for free, but need to log in with GitHub to join and track their own streaks. The leaderboard highlights top builders, their current streak, and total ships, providing a transparent and community-driven way to measure productivity and progress.

Track shipping cadence as a solo founder

Log each feature, launch, and milestone in a public build log to demonstrate consistent delivery and hold yourself accountable without relying on follower counts.

Discover active indie builders to follow

Browse the leaderboard to find makers ranked by what they actually ship, surfacing collaborators, peers, or projects worth watching based on real output.

Build credibility without a large audience

Use a verifiable history of shipped work and progress streaks as an alternative signal of credibility when pitching users, partners, or early customers.

Maintain momentum with progress streaks

Small teams can use streaks and activity history to stay motivated, turning shipping into a visible habit that reinforces consistent delivery over time.

Skeptical, then convinced

I went in skeptical — most tools in this space overpromise. It actually delivers on community discovery of active builders, and useful discovery tool for active builders caught me off guard. Depends on honest self-reporting is why this isn't a perfect score, still, I'd recommend giving it a real trial.

Years in this space

I've evaluated a lot of these over the years. What stands out here is shipping-based leaderboard ranking — handled better than most — and simple, focused purpose. Less useful for builders with long release cycles is my one real gripe. Worth the time if this is your use case.

Use it every day

Honestly didn't expect to like it this much. Milestone and launch tracking is exactly what I needed, and encourages public accountability. I do wish less useful for builders with long release cycles, but I reach for it almost every day now and it just clicks.

Does the job

Pretty happy overall. Shipping-based leaderboard ranking just works and simple, focused purpose. but no dealbreakers — I'd recommend it to a friend without hesitating.
