Overview

VidPix is a browser‑based service that uses artificial‑intelligence models to replace faces in videos, still images, and animated GIFs. It is aimed at creators, marketers, and casual users who need quick, realistic face swaps without installing dedicated software. The workflow consists of three steps: upload the source media, choose a target face from a built‑in gallery or upload your own, and let the AI generate the swapped output. Users can fine‑tune basic settings before the process runs, and the system handles frame‑by‑frame blending for video. VidPix supports several modes: single‑face swaps for photos, videos, and GIFs; multiple‑face swaps where different faces are replaced in the same file; and batch processing that applies the same swap to many files at once. All operations are performed online, making the tool accessible from desktop, tablet, or mobile browsers. The platform advertises fast processing times and claims high accuracy in matching lighting, angles, and skin tones. Uploaded files are automatically deleted after a short retention period (7 days according to one statement, 24 hours in another), providing a degree of privacy for users. The free tier provides 60 credits upon registration, which limits the number of swaps a new user can perform before a paid option is required. Output quality depends on the source material, and the service does not offer advanced editing beyond the automated swap, which may be a constraint for professional workflows.

Compared a few options

Evaluated this against two competitors. Where it wins: photo face swap support and browser-based and accessible on most devices. Where it lags: processing times can lag on longer videos. On balance the feature set — especially free downloads of finished media — justifies the 5 stars for our use case.

Use it every day

Honestly didn't expect to like it this much. Photo face swap support is exactly what I needed, and free to use with no installation required. I do wish limited fine-tuning controls for advanced users, but I reach for it almost every day now and it just clicks.

Years in this space

I've evaluated a lot of these over the years. What stands out here is photo face swap support — handled better than most — and supports multiple formats including video, photo, and GIF. Processing times can lag on longer videos is my one real gripe. Worth the time if this is your use case.
