Overview

Pykaso is an AI tool for creating ultra-realistic images and videos. Users can access pre-trained models and custom workflows to generate AI content at scale. The platform features a library of pre-existing AI characters from which users can select or create their own AI influencer to represent their brand. Key tools include an image-to-image feature, which allows users to recreate visuals with their AI character, and an image-to-prompt feature, which generates realistic prompts to create AI images. Additionally, the platform offers an AI image editor, allowing users to edit images from simple prompts without needing photo editing software like Photoshop. AI video generation is also possible, and the skin enhancer (upscaler) feature can be used to enhance images in high-resolution, adding details and natural skin.

Does the job

Pretty happy overall. Reference image and prompt-based editing just works and reference-based controls for repeatable results. Quality depends heavily on training data and prompting skill can be annoying, but no dealbreakers — I'd recommend it to a friend without hesitating.

Solid for our team

We rolled this out across the team last quarter and high level of photorealism in outputs. Reference image and prompt-based editing fits neatly into how we already work, and reference image and prompt-based editing removed a step we used to do by hand. Quality depends heavily on training data and prompting skill, which is the main caveat, but it has held up under daily use.

Skeptical, then convinced

I went in skeptical — most tools in this space overpromise. It actually delivers on character and style consistency controls, and reference-based controls for repeatable results caught me off guard. still, I'd recommend giving it a real trial.

Use it every day

Honestly didn't expect to like it this much. AI video generation tools is exactly what I needed, and high level of photorealism in outputs. but I reach for it almost every day now and it just clicks.

Years in this space

I've evaluated a lot of these over the years. What stands out here is custom LoRA model training — handled better than most — and custom LoRA training for consistent characters and styles. Worth the time if this is your use case.
