Overview

OpenText Aviator is an enterprise AI portfolio that brings generative and predictive AI capabilities to OpenText's information management platforms. It is designed to help organizations apply AI across functional areas such as content, customer experience, business operations, IT, security, and developer workflows. The suite includes assistants and AI services that can be integrated with existing OpenText products, allowing companies to surface insights from unstructured data, automate routine tasks, and support knowledge workers with contextual recommendations. It targets large enterprises that need governed, secure AI tied to their existing information ecosystems. Aviator emphasizes private deployment options, data governance, and integration with enterprise content and process systems, positioning itself as an alternative to building general-purpose AI assistants from scratch.

Use it every day

Honestly didn't expect to like it this much. AI for IT operations and cybersecurity is exactly what I needed, and deep integration with OpenText information management products. I do wish most useful for existing OpenText customers, but I reach for it almost every day now and it just clicks.

Does the job

Pretty happy overall. Governance and private deployment options just works and covers multiple business domains in one portfolio. Most useful for existing OpenText customers can be annoying, but no dealbreakers — I'd recommend it to a friend without hesitating.

Years in this space

I've evaluated a lot of these over the years. What stands out here is content and knowledge discovery across enterprise data — handled better than most — and enterprise-grade security and governance focus. Most useful for existing OpenText customers is my one real gripe. Worth the time if this is your use case.

Compared a few options

Evaluated this against two competitors. Where it wins: governance and private deployment options and covers multiple business domains in one portfolio. Where it lags: most useful for existing OpenText customers. On balance the feature set — especially content and knowledge discovery across enterprise data — justifies the 4 stars for our use case.
