Overview

Latitude is an open-source platform for designing, testing, and deploying LLM-powered agents. Developers can spin up an agent from a single prompt, then iterate on it collaboratively with prompt engineers and domain experts in a shared workspace. The platform pairs prompt management with evaluation tooling, letting teams run datasets through their prompts, score outputs, and catch regressions before shipping. Logs, traces, and metrics feed back into the workflow so agents can be refined continuously based on real production behavior. Latitude exposes agents through an SDK and API, making it straightforward to integrate them into existing applications while keeping prompts versioned and decoupled from code.

Key features

  • Prompt-to-agent generation

Use cases

Rapidly prototype LLM agents

Generate a working agent from a single prompt and iterate quickly in a shared workspace, shortening the path from idea to deployed agent.

Evaluate prompts against datasets

Run curated datasets through prompts, score outputs, and catch regressions before shipping new versions to production.

Monitor agents in production

Use built-in logs, traces, and metrics to observe real agent behavior and feed insights back into prompt refinement.

Integrate agents into existing apps

Embed versioned, managed prompts into applications through the SDK and REST API while keeping prompt iteration decoupled from code.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Open-source with self-hosting option
  • Fast path from prompt to deployed agent
  • Built-in evaluation and observability
  • Collaborative workspace for technical and non-technical users

Cons

  • Newer platform with a growing ecosystem
  • Requires LLM provider API keys and costs
  • Advanced features have a learning curve

Solid for our team

We rolled this out across the team last quarter and open-source with self-hosting option. Production logs and tracing fits neatly into how we already work, and dataset-driven evaluations removed a step we used to do by hand. Newer platform with a growing ecosystem, which is the main caveat, but it has held up under daily use.

Does the job

Pretty happy overall. Production logs and tracing just works and open-source with self-hosting option. but no dealbreakers — I'd recommend it to a friend without hesitating.

Skeptical, then convinced

I went in skeptical — most tools in this space overpromise. It actually delivers on production logs and tracing, and open-source with self-hosting option caught me off guard. Newer platform with a growing ecosystem is why this isn't a perfect score, still, I'd recommend giving it a real trial.

Compared a few options

Evaluated this against two competitors. Where it wins: sDK and REST API for integration and fast path from prompt to deployed agent. On balance the feature set — especially team collaboration on prompts — justifies the 5 stars for our use case.
