Overview

Turn any idea into a photorealistic picture with GPT Image 2, OpenAI's next-generation AI image generator. Crystal-clear text rendering and world-class prompt understanding set it apart. The free version allows users to start with 20 credits, which can be used to generate two high-resolution images, and no credit card is needed. The model itself is multimodal and can handle long, detailed prompts with ease, making it suitable for a wide range of applications. GPT Image 2 understands artistic direction and can produce photorealistic results in various styles, from photorealism to Studio Ghibli. The tool excels at generating accurate text rendering, handling complex scenes, and producing high-quality images at a fast speed. One of the key features of GPT Image 2 is its ability to understand nuanced language and multi-object scenes. It also supports image-to-image editing, inpainting, and guided edits while preserving the structure and identity of the image. While the free version has some limitations, paid plans starting at $9.90 per month unlock additional features such as high-definition generation, 2K and 4K resolution, and batch generation. The tool has a zero-retention policy, ensuring that user prompts and outputs are never stored or used for training.

Use it every day

Honestly didn't expect to like it this much. Free access tier is exactly what I needed, and browser-based, no installation needed. but I reach for it almost every day now and it just clicks.

Does the job

Pretty happy overall. Direct image download just works and strong photorealistic image quality. Free tier may include limits or queues can be annoying, but no dealbreakers — I'd recommend it to a friend without hesitating.

Honestly didn't expect to like it this much. Direct image download is exactly what I needed, and browser-based, no installation needed. I do wish quality can vary with complex prompts, but I reach for it almost every day now and it just clicks.

Compared a few options

Evaluated this against two competitors. Where it wins: browser-based interface and handles in-image text better than many free tools. On balance the feature set — especially in-image text and typography support — justifies the 5 stars for our use case.

Solid for our team

We rolled this out across the team last quarter and browser-based, no installation needed. Text-to-image generation from prompts fits neatly into how we already work, and direct image download removed a step we used to do by hand. Quality can vary with complex prompts, which is the main caveat, but it has held up under daily use.
