It supports various file formats, including JPG, PNG, and PDF, with a maximum file size of 10MB. The tool can recognize handwriting, seals, code, and special characters with high accuracy and can also extract tables and formulas. GLM-OCR's AI processing pipeline aligns visual features with language understanding, allowing it to deliver accurate text extraction in challenging real-world scenarios where traditional OCR software fails. The extracted text can be downloaded in multiple formats, including plain text, Markdown, LaTeX for formulas, or structured JSON for data integration. GLM-OCR supports 8+ languages, including Chinese, English, French, Spanish, Russian, German, Japanese, and Korean, and can process documents with complex layouts. It also offers a free OCR API for developers. The tool's statistics show an OCR accuracy score of 94.62, with 0.9B AI model parameters and the ability to process 1.86 pages per second. GLM-OCR outperforms traditional OCR software and approaches large language models like Gemini-3-Pro in document text extraction accuracy. Solid for our team

We rolled this out across the team last quarter and handles both images and PDFs. Copy or download extracted text fits neatly into how we already work, and aI-powered text recognition removed a step we used to do by hand. May have file size or rate limits, which is the main caveat, but it has held up under daily use.

Compared a few options

Evaluated this against two competitors. Where it wins: browser-based interface and handles both images and PDFs. Where it lags: limited control over output formatting. On balance the feature set — especially copy or download extracted text — justifies the 4 stars for our use case.
