Overview

Fine is an AI coding agent built specifically for the pace and constraints of early-stage startups. It plugs into a team's development workflow to help plan features, write and review code, run tests, and move work toward production with less manual overhead. Rather than acting as a single-shot code generator, Fine is designed around collaborative workflows where engineers, product folks, and AI agents share context across tasks. This lets small teams move quickly on shipping features while keeping humans in control of architecture and quality decisions. It fits best for founding teams that need to extend engineering capacity without immediately growing headcount, and for startups iterating on MVPs or scaling early products.

Key features

  • AI coding agent for feature development

Years in this space

I've evaluated a lot of these over the years. What stands out here is automated test generation and execution — handled better than most — and supports collaboration between humans and AI agents. Worth the time if this is your use case.

Solid for our team

We rolled this out across the team last quarter and tailored to startup workflows and pace. Automated test generation and execution fits neatly into how we already work, and shipping and deployment support removed a step we used to do by hand. but it has held up under daily use.

Use it every day

Honestly didn't expect to like it this much. AI coding agent for feature development is exactly what I needed, and tailored to startup workflows and pace. I do wish quality depends on clear task context, but I reach for it almost every day now and it just clicks.

Skeptical, then convinced

I went in skeptical — most tools in this space overpromise. It actually delivers on integration with existing dev tooling, and tailored to startup workflows and pace caught me off guard. still, I'd recommend giving it a real trial.
