Overview

Ellipsis AI is an AI developer tool that automatically reviews code and fixes bugs on pull requests. It allows teams to define, govern, and observe every agent, setting permission boundaries, spend limits, and tool allow-lists. The tool records each run's thinking, called tools, run tests, and shipped diff, providing a transparent and trustworthy workflow. With built-in security features, such as SOC 2 Type 1 certification, zero source code retention, and least privilege by default, Ellipsis Cloud connects GitHub, Slack, and Linear, supporting engineering teams in managing their coding agents. Agents can be run in isolated sandboxes, reviewed, and versioned like the rest of the code. The tool also provides a daily standup feature to post summaries of the merged PRs, reviews still waiting, and failing CI.

Key features

  • Agent sandboxing and permissions
  • Budgeting and spending limits
  • Tool allow-lists and MCP servers
  • Agent templates and live editing
  • Tracing and observable logs

Solid for our team

We rolled this out across the team last quarter and it saves real time. The automation fits neatly into how we already work, and the integrations removed a step we used to do by hand. The mobile experience lags, which is the main caveat, but it has held up under daily use.

Solid for our team

We rolled this out across the team last quarter and support is responsive. The dashboard fits neatly into how we already work, and the core workflow removed a step we used to do by hand. The mobile experience lags, which is the main caveat, but it has held up under daily use.

Use it every day

Honestly didn't expect to like it this much. The core workflow is exactly what I needed, and the value for money is strong. I do wish the mobile experience lags, but I reach for it almost every day now and it just clicks.
