Decipher AIAI agent that writes, maintains, and runs software tests while surfacing live bugs in production.

4.8 (4)

Overview

Decipher AI is an automated testing tool that uses AI agents to generate and maintain test suites for software projects. Instead of engineers manually authoring unit, integration, or end-to-end tests, Decipher analyzes the codebase and produces tests that aim to reflect real application behavior, updating them as the code evolves. Beyond pre-deployment testing, the platform monitors running applications to detect live bugs, regressions, and unexpected behavior. This combination is intended to shorten QA cycles, reduce the maintenance burden of brittle test suites, and give teams faster signal on issues that reach production.

Key features

  • AI-generated unit and integration tests
  • Automatic test maintenance as code changes
  • Live bug detection in production environments
  • Coverage analysis and gap identification
  • Integration with existing CI/CD pipelines
  • Issue reporting and triage support

Use cases

Auto-Generate Test Suites

Analyze a codebase to produce unit and integration tests that reflect actual application behavior, reducing the manual effort of writing tests from scratch.

Maintain Tests as Code Evolves

Automatically update existing test suites when code changes, helping teams avoid brittle tests and reducing ongoing maintenance overhead.

Detect Live Production Bugs

Monitor running applications to surface regressions and unexpected behavior in production, giving teams faster signal on issues that escape CI.

Identify Coverage Gaps in CI/CD

Integrate with existing CI/CD pipelines to analyze test coverage, flag untested paths, and support issue triage across the development workflow.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Reduces time spent writing and updating tests
  • Helps catch bugs in production, not just in CI
  • Adapts tests as the codebase changes
  • Frees engineers to focus on feature work

Cons

  • Generated tests may need human review for correctness
  • Effectiveness depends on codebase complexity and language support
  • Production monitoring requires integration and trust in automated triage

Use it every day

Honestly didn't expect to like it this much. Issue reporting and triage support is exactly what I needed, and helps catch bugs in production, not just in CI. but I reach for it almost every day now and it just clicks.

Skeptical, then convinced

I went in skeptical — most tools in this space overpromise. It actually delivers on integration with existing CI/CD pipelines, and adapts tests as the codebase changes caught me off guard. still, I'd recommend giving it a real trial.

Solid for our team

We rolled this out across the team last quarter and helps catch bugs in production, not just in CI. Automatic test maintenance as code changes fits neatly into how we already work, and live bug detection in production environments removed a step we used to do by hand. Effectiveness depends on codebase complexity and language support, which is the main caveat, but it has held up under daily use.

Does the job

Pretty happy overall. Issue reporting and triage support just works and frees engineers to focus on feature work. but no dealbreakers — I'd recommend it to a friend without hesitating.
