Overview

CopyCat is a record-based automation builder designed for commercial brokers, particularly in the insurance industry. It turns user actions into reusable workflows, automating tasks such as generating branded proposals, comparing quotes, and analyzing risks. The tool works with over 1000 carrier formats and allows users to upload carrier quotes, select a theme or upload their own, and generate proposals in under two minutes. The process involves extracting data from policies and formatting it into a branded proposal, which can be customized to match the user's exact format. The tool also translates carrier language into plain language that clients can understand without requiring a call. Proposals can be generated and sent to clients in days, not months, with no per-carrier setup required. CopyCat's capabilities include generating accurate proposals, automating repetitive tasks, and providing a risk analysis report to facilitate sales. The tool has received positive feedback from commercial producers and brokers, who praise its speed, accuracy, and ability to save time. The typical workflow with CopyCat involves uploading carrier quotes, selecting a theme or uploading a custom theme, and generating a proposal. The tool then formats the data into a branded proposal that can be sent to clients. Overall, CopyCat aims to streamline the proposal generation process for commercial brokers, reducing the time and effort required to produce accurate, branded proposals.

Compared a few options

Evaluated this against two competitors. Where it wins: team sharing of automations and reusable and shareable automations. Where it lags: less flexible than custom-coded automations. On balance the feature set — especially team sharing of automations — justifies the 4 stars for our use case.

Solid for our team

We rolled this out across the team last quarter and reusable and shareable automations. Workflow playback and replay fits neatly into how we already work, and quick deployment of recorded tasks removed a step we used to do by hand. May require cleanup or editing after recording, which is the main caveat, but it has held up under daily use.

Does the job

Pretty happy overall. No-code interface just works and no-code, record-based workflow creation. but no dealbreakers — I'd recommend it to a friend without hesitating.

Years in this space

I've evaluated a lot of these over the years. What stands out here is editable automation steps — handled better than most — and accessible to non-technical users. Worth the time if this is your use case.
