Overview

Built Written is an AI platform that assists in drafting full-length books in an author's unique voice. It ingests various texts, including LinkedIn posts, podcast transcripts, and notes, to create a voice profile. With this profile, Wren, the AI assistant, generates a structured 200-page draft in as little as five minutes. Users can paste their scattered notes or upload a draft manuscript for Wren to assemble an outline, fill in chapters, and create a print-ready book within minutes. The platform also offers various tools and features, such as cover design, print formatting, and illustration. Built for individuals who already have something to say, including coaches, founders, consultants, and executives, Wren aims to save time and effort by streamlining the book-making process.

Does the job

Pretty happy overall. Author voice modeling from writing samples just works and reduces reliance on ghostwriters. Voice replication quality depends on input samples can be annoying, but no dealbreakers — I'd recommend it to a friend without hesitating.

Use it every day

Honestly didn't expect to like it this much. Support for multiple genres is exactly what I needed, and reduces reliance on ghostwriters. I do wish voice replication quality depends on input samples, but I reach for it almost every day now and it just clicks.

Skeptical, then convinced

I went in skeptical — most tools in this space overpromise. It actually delivers on style and tone customization, and reduces reliance on ghostwriters caught me off guard. still, I'd recommend giving it a real trial.

Years in this space

I've evaluated a lot of these over the years. What stands out here is style and tone customization — handled better than most — and reduces reliance on ghostwriters. Voice replication quality depends on input samples is my one real gripe. Worth the time if this is your use case.
