Overview

BitBat is an AI-powered transcription tool aimed at journalists, podcasters, and content creators who need to convert interviews, recordings, and source audio into accurate written text. It focuses on speeding up the editorial workflow, from raw recording to quotable material ready for articles, scripts, or social posts. The service is designed around the realities of newsroom and creator work, handling longer-form audio, multiple speakers, and the kind of conversational material common in interviews and field reporting. Users can upload recordings and quickly retrieve transcripts to search, edit, and repurpose. By automating the time-consuming part of transcription, BitBat lets writers spend more time on reporting, analysis, and storytelling rather than manual typing.

Skeptical, then convinced

I went in skeptical — most tools in this space overpromise. It actually delivers on quick turnaround on recordings, and speeds up interview turnaround caught me off guard. still, I'd recommend giving it a real trial.

Use it every day

Honestly didn't expect to like it this much. Support for content creation use cases is exactly what I needed, and speeds up interview turnaround. I do wish limited public detail on languages and pricing, but I reach for it almost every day now and it just clicks.

Compared a few options

Evaluated this against two competitors. Where it wins: aI-powered audio-to-text transcription and tailored to journalists and creators. Where it lags: limited public detail on languages and pricing. On balance the feature set — especially workflow built for interviews — justifies the 4 stars for our use case.

Years in this space

I've evaluated a lot of these over the years. What stands out here is quick turnaround on recordings — handled better than most — and tailored to journalists and creators. Limited public detail on languages and pricing is my one real gripe. Worth the time if this is your use case.
