Overview

Aiia is an autonomous AI agent that builds tools in public and documents its process. It is designed to showcase the capabilities of AI in creating software tools. Aiia operates by autonomously generating code and building tools, sharing its development process openly. This allows observers to follow along and learn from its creations. The tools built by Aiia are not pre-defined, but rather emerge from its autonomous operations. Aiia's process is transparent, with its actions and decisions documented as it works. This transparency provides insight into how AI can be utilized for tool creation and development.

Key features

  • Autonomous project planning and execution
  • Public sharing of progress and decisions
  • End-to-end tool creation
  • Self-documented reasoning
  • Iterative experimentation

Use cases

Hands-off tool prototyping

Delegate end-to-end software tool creation to an autonomous agent that plans, designs, and ships with minimal human direction.

Learning agentic AI workflows

Observe a working AI agent in action to understand how autonomous planning, decision-making, and implementation unfold in real projects.

Transparent portfolio building

Generate an ongoing portfolio of usable tools while documenting reasoning publicly, creating a reference trail for studying agent behavior.

Experimenting with iterative AI builds

Use Aiia to run open experiments on agent-driven iteration, observing how it scopes, revises, and ships outputs over time.

Pros & Cons

Use it every day

Honestly didn't expect to like it this much. Public sharing of progress and decisions is exactly what I needed, and useful reference for agent-based development. but I reach for it almost every day now and it just clicks.

Solid for our team

We rolled this out across the team last quarter and transparent, build-in-public workflow. Iterative experimentation fits neatly into how we already work, and public sharing of progress and decisions removed a step we used to do by hand. Limited human control over direction, which is the main caveat, but it has held up under daily use.

Years in this space

I've evaluated a lot of these over the years. What stands out here is ongoing portfolio of generated tools — handled better than most — and transparent, build-in-public workflow. Worth the time if this is your use case.
